policy of employing wild animals as librarians.

The habbit of reading is the only enjoyment in which there is no alloy;
it lasts when all other pleasures fade.
-Anthony Trollope
A room without books is like a body without a soul.
-Cicero
They are the books, the arts, the academes,
That show, contain and nourish all the world.

and so beguile thy sorrow.
-William Shakespeare Titus Andronicus
All that mankind has done,thought, gained or been--
it is lying as in magic preservation in the pages of books.
-Thomas Carlyle
"I never thought to look in here!'" she whispered excitedly.
"I got this out of the library weeks ago for a bit of light reading."

"I shall divide every moment between music and reading.
I have formed my plan, and am determined to enter on a
course of serious study.Our own library is too well know
to me, to be resorted to for anything beyond mere amusement.
But there are many works well worth reading, at the Park;
and there are others of more modern production which
I know I can borrow of Colonel Brandon. By reading only six hours a-day.
I shall gain in the course of a twelvemonth a great deal of instruction
which I now feel myself to want." spoken by Marianne
-Jane Austen Sense and Sensibility
