General Information
Student parking hang tags will go on sale after the first week of school for $5. To be eligible to purchase a hang tag, you will need to complete the registration form, including the parent signature, have your car’s registration, show proof of insurance, have your drivers license, and be cleared of all school debts.
You may park in any available, non-reserved space in the student parking lot, and your hang tag must be displayed at all times. VISITOR PARKING IN THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL AND THE TEACHER/STAFF PARKING LOTS ARE POSTED OFF LIMITS. The strict speed of 10 mph will be enforced, and you may only park in only one space.
The student parking gates will be locked daily. ANY student arriving late to school must report to student affairs and sign-in. At that time, the student parking lot gate will be opened for them to park. STUDENTS ARE PERMITTED TO PARK IN STUDENT PARKING ONLY, UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN ADMINISTRATOR APPROVAL. VISITOR PARKING IN THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL AND THE TEACHER/STAFF PARKING LOTS ARE POSTED OFF LIMITS.
Any car parked on Alonso’s campus, in an area that has not been designated for that vehicle, will be towed at the expense of the owner. Towing is done by Stepp’s Towing at a cost set by the towing company.
STUDENTS THAT DO NOT FOLLOW THESE RULES MAY BE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION OR THEIR VEHICLE WILL BE TOWED AT THE OWNER’S EXPENSE.

Implementation of Attendance Requirements for Minors to Maintain their Driving Privelage
State law requires that all students, 14 to 18 years of age, who have not earned a high school diploma, who have 15 unexcused absences in any period of 90 calendar days, be ineligible for driving privileges. School districts are required by this legislation to report to the State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), the names of any students who have accumulated 15 unexcused absences in a period of 90 calendar days. The student who is reported will be informed by the DHSMV that his/her name has been received and he/she may lose the privilege to drive. Should a student be contacted by DHSMV with information, he/she may initiate a request for a hardship wavier or a request for reinstatement of driving privilege through the Office of Student Affairs.
Effective January 5, 1999, students who accumulate 15 unexcused absences in any period of 90 calendar days will be reported by the school to the DHSMV. Please follow the attendance procedure that has been established in order that students not be reported unexcused when they should be excused.
